For the publishing industry to shift from the broken country club model of the past to an inclusive and thriving industry where we can grow, separate and together, a community garden of varied voices, diverse writers must meet in community to bond, share experiences, and contemplate the continued needed actions to move the publishing industry forward.

A donation to our DEI fund goes toward the following:

Scholarships for BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, disabled, and neurodiverse writers
Funding for DEI events and panels

ONLINE programming takes place in real time in our virtual Zoom classrooms. This keeps the instruction intimate yet accessible to writers across the country. Click here for online learning instructions.

Terms and Conditions

Please note that all Writing Barn classes and events are nonrefundable and nontransferable to another class. You may transfer your attendance to another writer.

Class recordings will be made available only to those who cannot make the class, including those for whom last-minute tech issues (wifi access, etc.) prevents them from participating. Recordings are available for two weeks following the class date, then deleted.
