We all know and love the work of author Amy Krouse Rosenthal (Spoon, I Wish You More, Dear Girl, Little Pea and more) and while her life may have ended way too soon, her catalog of creative works lives on to inspire. Can we create like Amy--Bravely? Humorously? With heart? How can we shape our days and nights doing our best work?

In this 6-week class, award-winning children’s author Marcie Colleen (Love, Triangle and Penguinaut!), will guide writers through a deep dive into Amy Krouse Rosenthal’s body of work: her many children's books, adult memoirs, TED Talks, films, and projects to connect with Amy's clever wit and love-affirming spirit and bring our own talents, inspired by Amy’s, to the page.

Marcie Colleen

Marcie Colleen is the award-winning picture book author of LOVE, TRIANGLE, illustrated by Bob Shea (HarperCollins), PENGUINAUT!, illustrated by Emma Yarlett (Scholastic), and the upcoming THE BEAR’S GARDEN illustrated by Alison Oliver (Macmillan). Additionally, she wrote The Super Happy Party Bears chapter book series (Macmillan).She is a frequent presenter at conferences for the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, as well as faculty for San Diego Writer's Ink and the University of California San Diego Extension. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Education of English and Language Arts from Oswego State University and a master’s degree in Educational Theater from New York University.Marcie lives in San Diego, California. Class recordings will be made available only to those who cannot make the class, including those for whom last-minute tech issues (wifi access, etc.) prevents them from participating. Recordings are available for two weeks following the class date, then deleted.
